Cables & Connections
Connecting C-more Touch Panels There are several ways to connect C-more Operator Panels to PLC's, depending on the cabling distance from PLC to panel, and whether the Ethernet port, on full-featured panels, is required for communication with multiple PLCs (and multiple brands of PLCs), to talk with a second slave panel, or for advanced features such as e-mail and FTP access and allowing the panel to act as a Web server.
Wiring Options: (Note: No Ethernet port on basic panels EA7-S6C-R or EA7-S6M-R).- Ready-made serial RS232 cables (3m max.) - for internal control panel connection.
- Site-installed serial RS422 / 485 cable (1500m max.) - to suit connected devices.
RS422 (4-wire 10 point multidrop) - high noise immunity fast serial network. RS485 (2-wire 32 point multidrop) - serial polling network. RS485 (4-wire 32 point multidrop) - option to support specific devices. - Ethernet (100m per hub/switch connection) - high-speed communications for fast update of screens with large quantity of variables. Either use an Ethernet crossover cable directly between the C-more touch panel Ethernet port and the PLC Ethernet port (full feature panels only), or connect the C-more touch panel and PLC together via an Ethernet hub or switch, and CAT5 Ethernet cables (full feature panels only)
